Pain indications

Neuropathic and general pain

As well as potentially addressing general pain indications, certain product candidates focus on neuropathic pain, poorly served by current treatments. It has been estimated that only around 50% of patients experiencing neuropathic pain get any pain relief at all from their treatments, and even when pain relief does occur, it is judged only to be about 50% effective.

Neurological indications

Parkinson’s disease

Diseases of the central nervous system are, unfortunately, many and varied. Many disorders are, as yet, poorly treated, with a lack of effective drugs available. This significant unmet medical need is what prompts Vernalis to pursue possible drug candidates in this area.
