Overview

Research has always played a pivotal role at Vernalis. Many of the candidates in our pipeline were derived from research programmes initiated by Vernalis.  These then progress to collaborations, such as the partnership with Novartis, or are developed in house such as our Chk1 inhibitor programme.  In addition, we apply our innovative approach to partner programmes, such as our two collaborations with Servier.

Research takes place at our Granta Park location in Cambridge. Our research team combines extensive traditional drug discovery experience with an appetite to explore and apply the most useful new techniques, such as fragment-based drug discovery. It’s this unique duality that sets Vernalis research apart. This innovative approach is why companies like Novartis, Servier, GSK and Lundbeck seek to partner and collaborate with us.
