IFRS
In June 2002, the Council of the European Union adopted a regulation requiring listed companies in its member states to prepare their consolidated financial statements in accordance with the International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).
The financial results for the year ended 31 December 2005 and the six months ended 30 June 2005 were both prepared in accordance with International Financial Reporting Standards (“IFRS”). Prior to these results the Group prepared its audited annual financial statements under UK Generally Accepted Accounting Practices (“UK GAAP”).
